Departement of Culture

The Department of Culture is responsible for the administrative and logistic framework of the municipal cultural institutions: the museums, the library, Circa (Cultural Centre of Ghent), the Urban Archaeology Service, City Archives Service, Service of Historic Buildings and Architecture and the Cultural Participation Service.

The Department outlines the cultural policy of Ghent, actively supports the cultural sector and offers information about cultural activities and cultural mattes in the broadest sense. Project subsidies serve as a leverage for new initiatives.
