The Tourist Office is keen to promote the Maeterlinck Year events on an international scale, and not least in France, where the interest will presumably be the most keen. Tourist guide associations are preparing to organise Maeterlinck walks, to pay visits to places in Ghent connected to the life of the writer. A gourmet experience is also being prepared, with the most celebrated Ghent restaurants offering a special "Maeterlinck" menu (featuring the writer's favourite dishes).
